Clean & green are our promises

Proving that hotels can be responsible businesses acting as a force for good in their communities,  the Manapany has been named Eco - Resort of the year the 2019 Hotel & Lodge Business & Meetings Awards.

The Manapany is operated with complete respect for and protection of the natural environment.
Electricity needs are partially produced by solar panels. The desalination station of the resort produces its own water and only electric cars are allowed to get around the 4.2- acre property. No chemicals are used in cleaning and maintenance, only steam and natural products. All hotel towels are made from bamboo, with only natural fibers. The hotel’s own vegetable garden and orchard – with citrus, mango, banana and coconut trees – provides fresh, organic ingredients for the healthy cuisine in the restaurant, while other food products are mostly locally sourced. And for treatments and services at the spa, only organic products from Dr. Hauschka are used.

Our eco - responsability promises

Resort conception

When designing the hotel, we favored the use of wood for the terraces, furniture and architecture.
The 43 private villas and suites are spacious and exquisitely appointed, with artisanal furnishings, sundecks and unobstructed views of the sea and surrounding gardens. The elegant design and casual décor reflect the spirit of the island, setting the stage for gracious living and utter relaxation. Tropical woods and materials in earthy tones are juxtaposed with splashes of island color, from peppery red and turmeric yellw to mint green and ultramarine blue. All furnishings are handmade and exquisitely appointed. The bright cotton rugs and cushions were woven by Mexican artisans.

No chemicals are used in cleaning and maintenance, only steam and natural products. All hotel towels are made from bamboo, with only natural fibers.

A living environment that respects our environment
  • We favour the use of ecological products and methods such as dry steam cleaning and biodegradable detergents for both the rooms and the linen.
  • The change of linen and sheets is done at the request of the customer.
  • We control and monitor the air conditioning systems on a regular basis.
  • Our Spa offers Dr Haushka treatments, whose products are labeled organic.
  • Our concierges direct our guests to activities with a low environmental impact.
  • Our 5-star eco-resort is designed to support the passage of biodiversity (including turtles and iguanas).
Gestion des ressources responsable
  • The resort's water system, autonomous in its supply and treatment, does not discharge any wastewater into the environment or the sea.
  • Rainwater is collected and used for watering the garden by drip irrigation.
  • The island of St Barths enjoys an ideal amount of sunshine throughout the year. In order to optimize this sunshine, the Manapany hotel transforms the solar energy to produce its own hot water.
  • The Manapany has banned the use of single-use plastic in the staff kitchen, and eliminated plastic bottles throughout the hotel.
  • Our laundry bags are made of recycled paper.
  • Invoices are sent by email to limit paper and ink consumption.
  • Our rooms are equipped with energy saving card switches.
  • We monitor and optimize our energy consumption on a monthly basis.
Responsible purchasing policy
  • Manapany's cuisine makes the most of the island's nature and the seasons. Fish, shellfish, aromatic herbs, fruits and vegetables from the estate... All with complex scents, subtle cooking and spicy freshness.
  • Local and organic products are served at breakfast.
  • We use local plants from the garden for some dishes.
  • Our garden provides us with flowers for the hotel decoration.
  • Our bathrooms are equipped with measuring devices for bath products, in order to limit individual packaging.
  • We train our employees on environmental commitments.
  • We select suppliers who are themselves committed to an environmentally responsible approach.
  • Our linen is made of bamboo fiber, a material that consumes 5 times less resources than a conventional cotton linen.
  • All our stationery is eco-labeled.
Electric vehicles

We invite our clients to use electric vehicles as a mode of transport, each of our rooms featuring a parking space equipped with an electrical recharge station. Different types of electric vehicles are available for rent, for a quick trip or throughout your entire stay.

Benefits of driving an electric car:

  • noise - free
  • easier to drive in St Barth
  • smell - free
  • does not consume fossil resources
  • easier to maintain
Our Eco-Resort
The Manapany is committed to the protection and preservation of its environment, which is why we try to work as much as possible with local producers and grow our own fruits and vegetables.
Therefore, we grow several species of fruit trees throughout the estate and you will find them directly in your plate and on our breakfast buffets.
Visits of the tropical garden can be arranged on request at the desk.
